Beautiful French MDF Shutter by Patricia Dewhirst

My name is Patricia and some of you may know or have met me at various shows and Anna Marie Designs Creative Weekends.

For this project I have taken three of the Anna Marie Designs MDF shutters and using Viva chalky paint, I applied a coat of the light green once this was dry I added a second coat of white chalky paint over the top.

Using one of the napkins from the Roses collection – Roses White, tearing the napkin to roughly fit then using Anna Marie Designs napkin glue I randomly applied the napkins to all three shutters. When dry I sanded back various parts of the shutters to blend the napkins and reveal some of the green paint from underneath.

I then painted the four small pots in Maya Gold Avocado paint, I filled them with fibre and made flower arrangements to sit on top.

I then added the MDF Mixed Media words to the shutters and using hinges from my stash I hinged all three shutters together. Finally adding pegs and post cards from the garden Bloom collection and stamped with messages also from the Anna Marie Designs garden bloom stamp sets.
