I like this resin as I can work with it evn though I am a Newby to this work. I bought some mini scales for my craft room so I didn’t risk dribbling resin onto the kitchen ones, then got stuck in.
I was able to mix it without creating a ton of bubbles, and could disperse them with a flash of heat gun across the top. The resin pics up the colour of any mica powder put onto the mould but here I would warn that some mica is better than others. It takes dyes well if you want to colour the body of the resin with alcohol inks or pigments sold for the purpose. I was working with this resin in Jan and Feb, both very chilly months with high humidity, so I found it slow to cure despite being in a heated house. It means you get a much longer working time with this resin as opposedto another brand I was trying at the time, so if you want to add swirls and really work with it, this is the resin for you. The bookmarks remained ‘floppy’ for 2 days, and wasn’t cured fully for a couple of weeks, so you have time to wrap a mermaid around a vase, or whatever. That is perfect again if you are new at Resin and want to take a little time at the project. Add a just a little heat and it will soften enough to give you a perfect shape.
It is of course crystal clear so the addition of any glitter and sparkles will show up well. For all I was a beginner, I am thrilled with the results and just can’t get enough time to play. I have made a lot of Trolley Tokens too, and they are rock hard enough to withstand being pushed into and out of a coin slot easily. No sign of wear yet.
YOU MUST REMEMBER to work with this resin in a well ventilated area. It gives off some fumes, not unpleasant but you really shouldn’t inhale them, so make sure the room has an open window.
I hope you enjoy playing with this as much as I do. My only regret is that there are not enough hours in the day for me to do more.
